Research laboratory of IDEA develops the inventory database, IDEA (Inventory Database for Environmental Analysis), which has the largest number of inventory datasets in Japan to support LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). Our mission is not only to develop IDEA but also to conduct a technical evaluation and establish methodology to assess environmental performance through mutual collaboration with domestic and international organizations.

Although in this website, we write “IDEA”, the formal name is “AIST-IDEA”.
