IDEA is being developed to ensure comprehensiveness, representativeness, completeness and transparency. In particular, in terms of comprehensiveness, economic activities in almost all businesses in Japan are covered, and all data are compiled using a classification code system based on the Japan Standard Industrial Classification and the Commodity Classification for Census of Manufactures. In addition, since the data is based on statistics, it is the data of the average manufacturing method and service in Japan, ensuring the representativeness.
As shown in the table below, there are 18 impact categories which can be evaluated by using IDEA. Our latest version of IDEA Ver.3.4 contains more than 5,300 datasets and strongly supports LCA practitioners.
